Week 4 Digital Divide

 Hey all, 

In this weeks we went over two different research journals one down by Prensky, M and the second done by Kirschner, P.A., and De Bruyckere, P.

In the first journal Prensky talks about Digital Natives and Digital Immigrants. Digital Natives are those who are considered gen Z or those who were born with the internet and Digital Immigrants are those whose during their lifetime the internet has evolved and they do not come as natural to the internet. 

according to the article by Prensky the fact that students nowadays have never known a world without anything digital they are more adept to multi-task and are fundamentally different from any student before.

if I were to be placed into a category of Digital Native or Digital Immigrant. I would be placed into the category of Digital Native due to having been born into a Digital era now I was born on the earliest side of being considered a Digital Native having been born in 97. I don't believe that this has really effected my schooling. I was the farthest thing from a good student in high school but that was just to do with things happening in my personal life and not having an interest in school at all. However considering my schooling now I think its been a benefit due to being able to understand how to effectively perform tasks on the computer for school rather quickly.
